Default Brick on Blu-ray please

Words can't express how much I want brick on bluray. My favorite movie of all time. I know it's available in the UK but I think the video is in 1080i, and there's no extras. Let's get a US version already!!!

That UK disc (which won't play on the vast majority of American players) is likely the only release it will ever see on Blu-ray. The days of minor catalog titles that sold nothing getting a Blu-ray are over.

The UK disc has a beautiful transfer.

It's the best around and if you are that desperate you'd buy it.

Great price too http://www.amazon.co.uk/Brick-Blu-ra...dp/B002BD9DOS/

"Minor catalog titles" are still being released almost every week. I don't think those days are "over" as you say.

Nightman, what did you love about Brick? I thought it was a terrible film but to be fair, I only watched it once so tell me why you liked it so much, will you?

Heh, the wife made me stop it about halfway through. She couldn't get into it at all with the modern teenage kids talking in 1930's style dialogue.

BTW, we were watching the Blu-ray. It can be had for really cheap on Amazon UK, but it's region-locked unfortunately. Plus as stated earlier, no extras whatsoever.

I had no interest in watching Brick; and then I watched The Brothers Bloom, which has become one of my very favorite movies.

So now I'm suddenly interested in Brick.

I think what i love most about it is what most people seem to hate about it, the writting. I love how they use the 1940's style of talking and its so unusual to see highschool students talking like that, but they pull it of so well, and i think it really makes the movie. Plus i love the characters, especially the names. I just find everything about it so creative and different. I also think Joseph Gorden Levitt was AMAZING and it turned him into my favorite actor. I havent seen brothers bloom yet, but im suspecting ill like it. Funny story, I didnt know if Rian Johnson(director/writter of Brick and Brothers Bloom) had it in him to make another great movie. This could of been another Donnie Darko situation. But recently I was watching breaking bad (by the way if you dont watch this show, get on ASAP) and the last episode i watched was called fly. It ended up being one of my favorite episodes in the series. the next day, im told that episode was directed by Brian Johnson. If he keeps it up, he may turn into my favorite director.

Yeah, bro. I don't get that either. Best Buy, walmart and target are all putting out exclusive titles that are really not that good. I believe they have only scratched the surface. Brick didn't have a major label behind it, so it probably will be a while.
I thought the movie was OK, but have no desire to own it on blu ray, UK or not. Bring on Green Street Holigans and Sword and the sorcerer, now were talking.

The retail exclusives are usually for movies that have proven to be popular and were big hits, once upon a time. Brick was nothing more than an Indie movie that grossed only $2 million in theaters. Options have opened a wee bit up since my first statement for smaller catalog films on Blu-ray. But it is still very tough to say any minor catalog property will definitely make it to Blu-ray in the future.
