Weird Problem With My Desktop

I don't know, I guess this happens when I go into Windows Movie Maker on my laptop, but oddly the text will stay on screen. Is there a way to make this stop besides restarting my laptop?

I'm not sure what operating system you're using, but on XP I would try this:

Right click on My Computer
Go to the Advanced tab
Select Settings on the Performance section
Go to the Visual Effects tab

Uncheck these:

• Fade or Slide Menus into view (optional)
• Fade or Slide ToolTips into view (optional)
• Fade out menu items after clicking (MUST)

You may find that you only need to uncheck the bottom one, but there's a chance it could be that you need switch off that plus both or one of the others.

Edit: Oddly, if I right click on the mouse, it goes away. Hmm...
