I'm glad I waited on getting Journey. I had a feeling something more enticing would come out. Definitely going to be purchased, now.

They should make mention of the other games on a smaller scale like a small line on the box on the back and a bigger coupon like thing on the inside.

Would make it look much better imo.

Definitly getting this even though I own flower and journey already.

Some more info:
- release is for North America only. Sony Europe hasn't done anything to release it. But all games are region free, so if someone overseas wants it, don't be afraid to import.

-trophies and save data will transfer from the digital versions. So for trophy peeps, sounds like nothing to be gained.

-soundtracks might be a voucher or on disc, seems to be undetermined as of now.

-I think the flow dlc will be with it as well, not entirely sure though.

To me, the content is celebrating Thatgamecompany's entire collection from the PS3. Honestly, I'd rather them keep the art and change the name to "thatgamecollection". All the bonuses an extras don't focus solely on Journey but on tgc's full ps3 lineup.

If your gonna name it after a single title and market it as the video seems to suggest, then focus on that single core product your selling, not all your past works. I just think they need to make reference to the other titles in a small capacity tbh but thats just imo

Despite the rave reviews, I wasn't interested in this until watching that trailer. Thanks for posting.

this isn't my type of game, but i'm tempted to get it for the soundtrack alone.

that music is powerful, lifting and emotional.

Jenova Chen, the co-founder of thatgamecompany, has been asked about the title a few times now and it's been said that even though this collection is entitled "Journey: Collector's Edition", it isn't called that due to the game title. The reason this collection has the name it has is because it's all about thatgamecompany's own journey to becoming the development studio that they are today, hence the inclusion of flOw, Flower and the three mini-games.

Personally, I really like the cover art, and to be honest, I think Flower's probably a better game than Journey. It's one of the most peaceful video games/experiences ever. That said, there's also going to be alternate cover art on the other side of the one shown, so you could always flip over the cover if you prefer the different artwork.

The soundtracks to thatgamecompany's catolog are incredibly powerful. If you're only interested in the soundtracks, though, I believe all three are available for download on the PlayStation Network.

I own everything by ThatGameCompany on the PSN. I also own the themes for Flower and Journey (the slideshow one) and avatars as well.

I'm still buying this. I'll always give ThatGameCompany my money, and I can't wait to get this!

There's that too, but it come with so much extra stuff, you just have to support that. The commentaries, bonus games, etc.

How can someone not love ThatGameCompany after this?

The games themselves costs $35 I think. (15 for Journey, 10 for Flower, 10 for Flow) and then you get the soundtracks, themes, avatars, bonus games, commentaries, featurettes, etc.

I'll get this one, probably on day 1. Thatgamecompany has produced some of the finest downloadable games of this generation and has become one of my favorite developers. Their games remind me a bit of Team ICO games. A lot of emotion and feelings in their games that really makes them feel meaningful.

Are these from a boot loader like the Sly Collection or an install from disk like the Tekken Tag games?

I wouldn't count that free space cleared until you have more info. I don't know one way or another... Just wondering.

Edit:

SOME info from TGC FaceBook

The flOw, Flower, and Journey (Game) soundtracks will either be on the blu-ray disc (installs on the PS3) or will be in a voucher code.

From TGC's Facebook:

"From a marketing standpoint, the best thing to do is sell it as the Journey Collector's Edition. A lot more people know about Journey than flOw, Flower, and thatgamecompany combined. All of your concerns were addressed long ago, and what is happening is the best decision."

=================

Also, not related, but still a HUGH BOOO!

"It uses the same set of trophies from the original downloads, and there is no platinum trophy."

=================

Last is the answer to my question about ports to the Vita:

"We're done working on the games for Sony and are hard at work on our next title. It's basically, "Do you want us to work on our next game, or continue working on old stuff?" And Sony owns the games, so they can port it if they want to.

Well I fully expected them to use the same trophies, but it would have been nice if they threw in a Platinum for all three games having 100%.

Not that I would have a chance in hell, of course, but just saying. Kinda like what they did with the Back to the Future games.

I'm still excited about this though. I love ThatGameCompany so as I said before I'll always support them.
