Default Trolls

Mkay, i've seen so many troll threads since the Paramount BS that I decided to make a little guide on how do deal with them.

If you see a thread titled I <3 HD-DVD (or somthing along that line) then don't post. He's trying to get a rise out of you and when you respond, that means accomplished his goal, pissing you off. Just use the icon. It has the same effect.

Some threads aren't as extreme as the ones I mentioned above, but the "Why does the PS3 not have any good games" threads are most likely troll threads. Especially if it's a nooblet poster.

If you see a member on with a name like microsoftfanboy, F**k Blu-ray(actual username..lol), or somthing like it, then PM a moderator that is currently online. Same with ban dodgers. I do this about once a day.

Feel free to add on.

I've seen a few of them and thats nice to know. I like seing people take pride in the sight.
Though I respect hearing the opposing veiw point. But only if they have their facts straight with sources to prove their point. Which is why if any of you do respond to some of those threads have your facts clear and straight so you take the high road.

SPEAKING ON TROLLING, I checked out the HDDVD website (www.hddvd.com)and they are claiming victory in their posts, as Paramount has came back home. The third one was kind of amusing as it started......"After a few items of not-so-great news in the last few weeks, the HD DVD camp just scored one of the biggest deals they could to ensure the format’s longevity......."
Do they really think Paramount is the saving grace?

well, that website is a laughing stock for all of us
They already suffered bad news most of the time. Let them cheer (by the Paramount's news)!

It's all over the place.

Somehow now HD-DVD has again won the format war, in past tense, simply because they finally got SOME kind of good news after months and months of nonstop Blu ass whippings.

It's an incredible phenomenon to watch, really.

I look at the Neilsens and other sales figures right through to today and I still see them getting their asses kicked, even with the Paramount news well in circulation.

But don't tell them that.

Note, they do not say survival or victory! I like word-play.

I don't mind some people saying their opinions or reittereating facts, but when they go too far & take it out of the realm of healthy conversation(or reality, i.e. FUD), then you KNOW you've got a troll.

I would certainly conclude it is a guarantee of survival. It is not a guarantee that HD DVD will outsell Blu-ray and it is not a guarantee that Toshiba or Universal or Paramount will make any money from sales of HD DVD. It is a guarantee that enough retailers will continue to carry the product that it won't be forced into an early retirement. In 18 months we will see what the market looks like and whether or not Paramount will want to continue with exclusiviity. Until then I would just expect more weeks of Blu-ray winning week after week after week. The margin will just be a lot closer than it has been.

Chris
