Default so sad/pissed, ipod touch lost/stolen

So I just need to vent. We started out the day taking my almost 3 year old daughter to see Toy Story 3, yes it was an awesome movie. My daughter insisted on taking her favorite purse with us which is fine but the kicker is that she had our ipod touch in her purse because we have Disney movies downloaded on it, she likes to watch cartoons on youtube, and she plays games that we downloaded on it for her, they are learning and teaching type games.

Anyways, for some reason my wife let her carry it in her purse which she never does and for some reason my daughter wanted to take the purse in to the theater with us which she never does. After enjoying the movie we headed out and left town for the weekend to go to my parents house. When we were already about an hour into our drive I for some reason thought of the ipod touch and the purse and how I felt like we didn't have it. After looking around frantically I asked my wife if she had gotten it and she said no!!! We freaked out. Called the theater up and they went to check where we sat and said it wasn't there.

Luckily most of our stuff on it was password protected but there are ALOT of pics of my daughter on it that have meaning to us (and we don't want strangers having pics of her anyways!!!), there are contacts and info about all of our family members on it, my wife used it at work for translating to patients with an app, and the real heartbreaker to me is that my daughter loved that thing and she not only doesn't have it but the purse was her very favorite one. I'm a tough guy but am getting teary eyed thinking about this and writing it.

We are still praying and hoping somebody will find it and turn it in. So what started out as a great fun filled day ended up being tainted and I hate that because the movie was very enjoyable as was our time there.

I always make my wife leave her purse at home or in the car when we go to the theater.

I had an ex girlfriend who forgot her purse after we saw a movie, but luckily it was the last show of the night and it was still sitting there.

I'm sorry what your family is going through. At least everyone has been in a similar situation and it's not a good feeling. Especially if it's a personal item. I hope someone that's well mannered would do the right thing and turn it in.

Good Luck

The worst case scenario if the person didn't return it to you. Is that since your iTouch is password protected. I think the only way they can use it is by erasing all the data when they sync it into their iTunes.

File a police report asap and place an ad on Craigslist. Perhaps offering an reward will send it back home.

I think we all know how crazy it can be when we lose something.

Recently went to Niagra Falls with 'the wife' and almost forgot my camera in a store.

Ran back top speed to get it and luckily it was still there.

Ignore him, and just report it to the police with your serial number.

Shitty situation, hopefully it all gets sorted out.

On the other hand, I learned something. I didn't know 3 year old girls have purses. (Seriously, I'm rarely around little kids, so it's news to me)

LOL, well she normally doesn't carry one around but sometimes she takes one and put little toys in it to take with her. The purses are really tiny.

Sorry to hear that Starscream. Just wanted to encourage you by saying that I'm the kind of person who always tries to "do the right thing" and that over the last ~4 years I have gone out of my way to return about a half dozen lost cell phones, a student ID (presumably with money on it) one time, etc. to their rightful owners. I do it because I like to believe that good things happen to good people, and if not then simply I can make the world a little bit better for somebody with my actions. It's a respect thing for me, and I'd hope for somebody to treat me the same way in my time of need (in fact, had my student ID returned to me before I'd even realized I'd lost it through a bizarre coincidence ~2 years ago). And so I hope it works out for the best, but in the event that it doesn't I just wanted to let you know that there are good people out there.

Well, looks like I've joined you mate. I travelled today and left my ipod on the plane in the seat pocket in front of me. 10 minutes after getting off the plane I realized I left it and reported it at the front desk. They looked and couldn't find it, so it could only mean that one of the cleaners found it, and stole it instead of turning it in. Im so upset 10 freaking minutes, they were just so quick. I really hate disloyal people but unfortunately we have to live with it.

*Sigh*
