Default Netflix: Demand for Blu-ray and HD DVD Evenly Split, But Tiny

http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/show/Disc_Sales/Netflix/Netflix:_Demand_for_Blu-ray_and_HD_DVD_Evenly_Split,_But_Tiny/895

BLU-RAY sales are leading HD-DVD by a factor of 2:1 and Blockbuster which is BLU-RAY exclusive in most stores is renting only BLU-RAY in most stores.
So since most Blockbusters do not rent HD-DVD discs of course 50% of Netflix rentals for HD media will be HD-DVD and 50% for BLU-RAY.
It would be better for the consumer in the long run to have one format

It says that total rental revenue from both is about 1%. One could make the argument then that the BB deal isn't that big of a deal right now. But maybe in the future.
