Wasn't sure about this so much when I was watching it, but it's definitely the kind of film that lingers. More like Lanthimos's pre-English language stuff, for those expecting something like The Lobster, but still obviously has Colin Farrell being weird (which is unmissable). Will pick this up eventually, hopefully still with slipcover (ditto Good Time and Notes on Blindness).

Gotta admit, I prefer the DVD cover. I love this one too but the DVD cover gives it a more arthouse vibe. But nonetheless, I'm excited for this. So glad I caught it in the only theater playing it in Iceland.

The DVD cover is pretty generic in my opinion. The Blu Ray cover is far more engaging.

Re-posting my analysis of this film from another thread on this board. I just wanted to see how others interpreted this film & generate some discussion, since I found it very interesting - but somewhat ambiguous:
Just watched TKOASD on Blu, for the first time. Beautiful & stunning print - the PQ & color were stellar. I watched this without having read any reviews or any kind of analyses of the film. This is unquestionably one of the most - if not THE most - twisted, unsettling, and genuinely bizzarre films I've ever seen. The dialogue & conversations between the characters was extremely stilted/awkward, which was obviously intentional. I felt like I was watching a play instead of a movie. At times, the conversations were unintentionally/intentionally?! laughable. Here's my interpretation of the film's events - note I haven't read any interpretations of the movie: The young man/teen Martin [Show spoiler] The [Show spoiler] I know that people [Show spoiler] As the film progressed, [Show spoiler] In any case, this was an extremely disturbing film. I doubt I'll want to see it again - at least not anytime soon. |
