United Kingdom Beauty and the Beast (Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman) on 28.3.2011

Beauty and the Beast: The First Season Blu-ray

Beauty and the Beast: The Second Season Blu-ray

Beauty and the Beast: The Third Season Blu-ray

Beauty and the Beast: The Complete Series Blu-ray

One of my favourite series is coming to Blu-ray..
To be honest I thought a series this old cannot be properly transfered to Bluray.. Let's hope we dont experience another "Highlander The Series" where they simply put upconverted 720p material.

Pre-order: HMV UK PLAY

Seems a bit too high for a series this old...

mod note: There seems to be some confusion about the seasons cover's numbering on Amazon

I don't think they even released a DVD of this series in the UK...

It wasn't just regions 1 and 4. They both had separate seasons and a complete set. This seems older than '87 to '90 to me I thought it was mid '80's.

Ah Ron Pearlman our generation's Lon Chaney, Sr or Jr.... Without the make-up kit.

Didn't remember it at first but that picture at the top made it all so familiar, think they may be being a bit optimistic with that price though.

Yeah £45-£48 for one season is silly, even if it was all 3 seasons I'd probably still wait for a price drop.

It's almost a pricing of Paramount proportions. Which for what is basically a cult series is a bit much.

you could also click on my pic, it has the same effect

Was this show shoot in 35mm and edit on video like a lot of TV series in the 80s ? Quite hard to make some HD transfers with this.

Well the show didn't have any special effects in it. Pure drama. Maybe that makes it easy to present to HD?

The other two seasons are now up for pre-order on Amazon. They are incorrectly listing two DVD versions of Season 2, however the more expensive version says Blu-ray in its description. I've sent Amazon some page updates.

Season 2:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Beauty-Beast...353524&sr=8-22

Season 3:

It's funny what your memory does to you lol. I was sure they were different in some way. Apart from trying to form a Utopian society underground.
