Default Moon

Duncan James' indie sci-fi film 'Moon' starring Sam Rockwell is not getting a wide release. It was one of the favorites at Sundance and is only being released in NYC and LA.

Anyone who lives in these areas should go see it with the chance of getting it a wider release.

Here is the trailer for those who haven't seen it.

Yeah, God forbid Moon should get as many theaters as Obsessed.

That's a bummer. I hope it gets released on bluray someday. I'd like to see it.

going to see a screening of it for Tribeca Film Festival this thursday!! so stoked

edit: i thought this was getting a wide release except not for a while...that really sucks if it doesn't, it looks spectacular and deserves a larger audience

The trailer looks spectacular. Brilliant concept. I hope the story can finish with a big bang rather than a whimper. I really want to see this.

FWIW, Netflix shows it will be coming to Blu-ray, date unknown. Netflix usually doesnt have an option to "save" as Blu, unless it really is coming to Blu. At least that has been their track record so far.

Man, after watching that trailer, I really want to see this one. Could be one of the next great cult sci-fi movies since it's not being widely released.

I can confirm that the NON wide release news is false. I spoke with the director Monday night after viewing the film at a festival and he said that its ONLY starting in NYC and LA...then spreading if it does good(which he plans) He even told me that the theater I saw it at (St Anthony Minneapolis MN) Will be getting it back June 27th.

AWESOME movie by the way..cant believe he shot it on a 5 mil. budget.

EDIT..and his name is Duncan Jones not James(to main poster)

This reminds me of an old tlight zone episode. Still an old story that can be extremly realistic. Yeah God forbid that theaters actually show good movies instead of crap...

Is there any new news on this movie? I see that it's hitting the UK now, but will it be out on BD soon, since it never got a wide-release?

For now I have to just keep looking at the poster and wondering if it's any good:

For anyone that's seen it... was it any good?

They finally started playing it here in Portland, and I jumped on it. Great movie!

It feels like a classic 70's-80's sci-fi movie, and gives nods to movies like 2001 and Blade Runner. the lack of an abundance of special effects just makes it feel way more real, and much more classic. The music, which was done by Clint Mansell (Requiem for a Dream) was simply awesome.

Honestly, even if you've not yet seen it, I would say don't be afraid to make it a first day purchase on Blu. This movie belongs on my shelf right next to 2001 and Blade Runner.
