Default Thinking about getting a Panasonic plasma...

how long before the picture fades? Do you think it could last 6 years if I ran it for 8hrs per day? At that rate how soon would the picture fade?

None knows how long it will last. What we do know at this point it is the best tv you can get at this point. I checked out the vt25 3D tv and it was beautiful. More important the 2D picture was also beautiful. The black levels are better than anything out there.

Current Panasonic plasmas are rated at 100,000 hours before the picture 'fades' to half brightness. Do the math. At 8 hours per day, that would be 34+ years. I'm pretty sure you'll be wanting to replace it before then...

I just got a 42" TPC-42S2 and I absolutley love it. The picture is absolutely gorgeous and it is probably the best TV I've ever owned. Worth every penny

I would agree that Panasonic 2010 models are the best plasma HDTVs available.
