As a frequent visitor to the karaoke bar, I have on many occasions been disappointed whilst sat in front of an 80" screen to see a 240p music video being played.
Thus I have decided to construct a list of all the 4K music videos on YouTube. Official channels ONLY! Nothing after 2004. MUSIC VIDEOS 1970s 1970 - Paul McCartney - Maybe I'm Amazed - 4:3 1971 - John Lennon - Imagine - 4:3 1978 – The Who – Who Are You – 4:3 1979 - The Police - Message In A Bottle - 4:3 1980s 1980 - The Police - De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da - 4:3 1980 - The Police - Don't Stand So Close To Me - 4:3 1981 - The Police - Everything She Does Is Magic - 4:3 1981 - The Police - Spirits In The Material World - 4:3 1983 – Elton John – I’m Still Standing – 4:3 1983 - Bonnie Tyler - Total Eclipse Of The Heart - 4:3 1984 – Dead Or Alive – You Spin Me Right Round (Like A Record) – 4:3 1985 – A-ha – Take On Me – 4:3 1985 – Freddie Mercury – Living On My Own – 4:3 1985 - Freddie Mercury - Made In Heaven - 4:3 1985 - Freddie Mercury - I Was Born To Love You - 4:3 1986 – Wham! – Last Christmas – 16:9 1986 – Whitney Houston – Greatest Love Of All – 4:3 1986 – Bon Jovi – Living On A Prayer – 4:3 1986 – Eurythmics – Missionary Man – 4:3 1987 – Eurythmics – Beethoven (I Love To Listen To) – 4:3 1987 - Freddie Mercury - The Great Pretender - 4:3 1987 - Freddie Mercury & Montserrat Caballé - Barcelona - 16:9 1989 - Eurythmics - Don't Ask Me Why - 4:3 1989 - Eurythmics - Angel - 4:3 1989 - Guns N' Roses - It's So Easy - 16:9 1990s 1991 - Pearl Jam - Jeremy 1994 - The Cranberries - Zombie - 4:3 1995 – Alanis Morissette – Ironic – 16:9 1995 – Alanis Morissette – You Learn – 4:3 1995 – Alanis Morissette – You Oughta Know – 4:3 1995 – Alanis Morissette – Hand In My Pocket – 4:3 1995 – Alanis Morissette – Head Over Feet – 4:3 1995 – Enya – Anywhere Is – 16:9 (cropped?) 1996 – Spice Girls – Say You’ll Be There – 4:3 1997 – Natalie Imbruglia – Torn – 16:9 1997 – Oasis – D’You Know What I Mean? – 16:9 – 1080 1999 - The Chemical Brothers - Hey Boy Hey Girl – 16:9 1999 - George Michael and Mary J. Added Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Eurythmics, Freddie Mercury, Bonnie Tyler, The Police.
Paul McCartney is just a photo montage but looks alright. The Eurythmics video for ‘Don’t Ask Me Why’ is interesting because whilst most of it looks stunning there are a few parts that show Annie Lennox with a bright white background that look as though they have been captured on a much weaker source. For example at 0:49 and 1:15. I’m not sure whether that was a technical decision or an artistic decision. Freddie Mercury Made In Heaven looks great. The Police looks pretty good. As for Bonnie Tyler and John Lennon it is pointless watching them in 4k. |

Here's some more:
[Show spoiler] These used to say "Remastered in 4K" in their description but they don't anymore. But you can still watch them in 4K: [Show spoiler]

Added 'Zombie' by The Cranberries.
This has had over a billion views. Didn't know the band were that big worldwide. An excellent video that looks absolutely gorgeous. This also gives me hope that many other 90s bands had their videos done on film. I had heard that much of the 90s was taped. Then again The Cranberries's previous album was big, Alanis Morissette's however was not... Also added Chemical Brothers Last edited by Caladriusse; 07-30-2020 at 03:28 PM. |

Jagged Little Pill is one of the best-selling albums of all time, celebrated its 25th anniversary this year and her new album comes out tomorrow, so there were a lot of tie-ins for them to remaster the videos.
