It's odd that Amazon.ca lists it as being released next week, because I just got back from a Wal-Mart trip to do some Halloween shopping, and they had it on both DVD and BluRay there in the store. I was pretty shocked since I had no idea it was even due out over here, so of course, being a fan of the series, I quickly snatched it up and have it sitting on my table right here, right now, ready to be opened and watched, lol. It is odd though that the site here doesn't have it listed at all yet, and that Amazon has it listed as being released next week, unless my local Wal-Mart accidentally released it a week early or something.

Lucky! I might check my Walmart too.
It's $25 on Amazon.ca and HMV, $23 in Archambault (Quebec side) but I don't know for Walmart... |

Yeah, I really dislike our releases here in Canada for cluttering up the cases with both English and French - especially in the situations where the French is the exact same as the English except for maybe an accent above a letter (as is the case with this - yuck).
As for the price, it was $19.97, and it comes with a slipcover, although I personally dislike slipcovers so I already had mine taken off and chucked before I took those pics. |

Yeah, the French/English packaging... I hate that too, and I'm French! Reversible covers were more effective/convenient during the DVD era, and even then you had that little subtitle saying "French cover on reverse side" ![]() |

Yeah, but at least a tiny "French cover on reverse side" is much more easy to deal with then giant splotches of two languages blocking up half the cover art on the front, back, and side.
And good luck with finding a copy ![]() |

Looks like I'll be heading to amazon.ca once again. For whatever reason the U.S isn't getting this until November 6th, and then only on DVD not Blu Ray. I Loved Rec 1&2 and imported the box set, and even with the 3rd being the weak link that really doesn't fit with the series, I'll pick it up just to complete the series with Rec 4 Apocalipsis coming Next year...

I think this was easily the best horror film of the year, and I can't understand why anyone would consider this a weak entry. Rec 3 does what few sequels do, build off the exising ideas and improve them, rather than just rest on its laurels and repeat the same thing over and over (saw, paraormal activity anyone?) and considering the series is one of the few that actually made the "found footage" idea work, the shift in narrative, I think, is a total success.

I'm far from a video/audio expert, but I found the video quality to be excellent to me, with only one scene having any amount of grain in it (and even then, it wasn't much) and I believe that was on purpose since it was from the POV of a lower-grade home video camera for that shot.

Excellent. I'm glad this is really coming out and not just an erroneous listing on amazon.ca. I live in the states, so we're only getting this movie on DVD in November. I had to import the box set with parts 1 and 2 to get them on BD, so it's good to see that Rec 3 is following the same path.

Probably a dumb question, but there are definitely English subtitles on this, right? The Amazon.ca product page doesn't say, and the page for the item here on Blu-ray.com lists it as "Subtitles: None."
Also, for American folks: is Expedited International shipping worth the slight premium over Standard International? |

I grabbed this at Wal-Mart today. HMV had it for $19.99, but sold the only copy they received. I asked Wal-mart if they can price match it and they did. I tried earlier at Futureshop today which they wanted $24.99. The girl said if it wasn't in stock, we can't. I told her if HMV had it in stock, I wouldn't be here trying to price match. Futureshop sucks here. They got rid of a lot of their DVD/Blu-ray titles and only carry a select few now.

Can anyone confirm what kind of English subtitles are on this? Standard English or English SDH?
The back of the case has the SDH logo, but the specs box just says "English" and they usually put "English SDH" if the subtitles have the captions for hard of hearing as well, so I have no idea what's included. It's kind of hard to tell with E1 since they often use both, and it's always one of the other, never both and I really don't like SDH subs. Last edited by Iron_Lung; 10-23-2012 at 09:04 PM. |
