No news yet, but the UK and US are the same if I remember correctly. If you're concerned about the audio sync issue then in this case it will make little difference as it's effecting both US and UK releases.

Word is though that Paramount are working on a solution. The "The Digital Bits" team thread has stated this as has the UK SPR thread.

Well my Saving Private Ryan which was ordered at Amazon UK has now been cancelled, it says it's been discontinued. I guess they will fix the audio and rerelease it? Glad my order was waiting for two things released on the 17th otherwise I would have been stuck with the dodgy copy of Ryan or have to return it myself! Hope they reissue it soon though!!!

Yep, the front page article on bluray.com has been updated to confirm that Amazon UK is now no longer selling the title. I'd emailed them two days ago about this so hopefully that will mean when it's resolved I get one ASAP.

Contact Amazon directly regarding this. I did (but this was before the new version was announced) and they refunded me the whole amount including shipping and advised that because of the cost of shipping to not return the original. I suggest you do the same. They may do this still being that you are a non-UK customer.

Today at JB Hi-Fi, I was sooo close to buying Saving Private Ryan (in the tin box) but I want to know for sure if there are sync issues with the Australian release like there was with the US release.

Does anyone know if the Australian release of this has any sync issues? Thanks.

The writing on the disc should be blue, the discs with black writing are the ones with the problem.

My copy has Black Writing on the disk and was purchased from JB, but I don't notice any Sync Issues.

So this Tin Case edition of SPR, is that a JB exclusive? a family member is going to auckland tomorrow so I asked them to pick it up from Albany as its only $NZ29.98... not sure if the tin-case version is here in NZ though... ?

It's possible that it's a JB exclusive. When I saw it the other day it was in a tin case. I bought Inglorious Basterds from JB Hi-Fi and it was a tin case exclusive too.

Yes, It's JBHifi Exclusive for SPR, The Godfather part 1, part 2, part 3 for LIMITED TIME only.

Also only available in stores not online.

This title is NOT a JB Exclusive. I can't speak for the Godfather films but I can confirm that Sanity has the Steel Case for SPR in stock in stores.
