Default Can Amazon.uk discs be played in US?

My machine says in the handbook that it plays region A discs. I'm pretty sure I already know the answer, but that means then that were I to order anything from amazon.uk, it wouldn't play, correct? Sorry for the noob question but their prices are so much better I was just kind of hoping....

Some will, some won't.

Check out our UK section of the Blu-Ray Movies forum, and this website for more info:

If the movie is region free or at least says AB then yes it can. I wouldn't trust Amazon's region info since it's wrong many times.

The link provided by DetroitSportsFan is invaluable. You really cannot trust anything that the retailer states; they're mostly just covering their arses should anyone ask for their money back.
