that's a great buy especially if they are in mint condition. i owned a pair before

(polk RTi10 on the left) selling them for my current axioms and i sold them for more than twice what you are mentioning you got the guy down to. they are excellent speakers. i will tell you though, having the benifit of experience with them, to really drive them you will need an external amp to really open them up. don't get me wrong, a really good receiver will let you hear them but, if you want to both hear them and feel them (in a good way) and external amp is needed and recommended.

buy them whether you have an external amp or not. cause if not, later you can always add the external amp but those speakers at that price won't last.

best of luck, please keep us posted.

The Onkyo 608 will drive those ok, but they really need a dedicated amp to sound their best.

i told you those were good speakers (remember, i use to own them for years) I am very happy that it worked out for you. you got away with an incredible deal and you should consider yourself very lucky. it's rare when things like this work out not just right but in your favor. on the rare chance that something that seems to be too good is actually the truth. glad to see it worked out for ya. they sound great too, don't they!?!

keep us posted!

Fantastic find OP........what a great deal you got. Hard to believe that this wasn't too good to be true, and that you got these speakers in even better condition and for less money that you originally thought.

man i was so happy.I couldnt beleive my luck.I thought for sure it was some 20 yr old kid, selling them so cheap for some drug money or something and they would be shot out RTi10s.lol.I also felted wrong for buying them for so cheap from the elderly women.i almost wanted to give her more cash..but i didnt..lol

So..i have these set @ "full range" on my Onkyo 608..but from reading on them in the polk forum,i should put them on small? and run a xover @ 80? and adjust the bass tone input? Im running Bi-amp on the RTi10 also..

Great deal. Question, is that the Z-Line Designs Bentwood you have the tv on. If it is , could you tell me about how much weight you have on it. I just bought one for my 58" Panny. Manual has that it can hold 150 pounds. Would that be the stand plus the shelfs can hold the 150. Or that the bracket that holds the tv can hold the 150, and the shelf can hold additional weight. And finally once you got it all together, did it feel sturdy to you, no wobble. Sorry for the long question, but thanks for any info.

I have a Z-Line myself and its very sturdy. The specified weight was for the top shelf. I think mine was stated to be 150lbs. if I remember correctly, so you shouldn't have any issues. Look in my gallery and you'll see that I have mine pretty loaded and its solid as a rock.
