Goldeneye, it should have long ago in my view. I really dont get the love of this one, I think if it wasnt for the N64 game this would be long gone.

I completely agree. For me, GoldenEye really belongs on the bottom half of the list (or top half, since we’re talking worst movies).

There seems to have been an explosion of new polls lately but don't forget to vote in this one...it's important.
Or in other words, bump. |

Exuding smugness more than suavity, Brosnan is my least favorite Bond by miles, but in all fairness I have to admit GOLDENEYE has its strengths; the action has a kineticism - especially in the excitingly staged and edited shootouts - that felt tonic seeing this in 1995 after several listless Bond films back in the '80s. The film overall has a sleek visual stylishness and Sean Bean is easily the best villain of the Brosnan era (and his fight scene with Brosnan at the climax is one of the best in the series). I also find the lovely Izabella Scorupco an underrated heroine...and the luscious Famke Janssen too gratingly OTT.
Still, this film can't hope to compete with what remains - especially since 4 of them are in my Bond Top 5 - so GOLDENEYE it is. I likely won't have the heart to vote any further in these polls since the rest are such hardcore favorites, but I do predict FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE will come out on top - being that it's my second favorite 007 film, I'd be good with that. ![]() |
