Hi,
What are your'e realistic expectations for 2011 - catalogue titles (Anounced and Expected). They have to be realistic for example: a new version of Wall Street. Second they can be versions where we now it could be an anniversary edition. Mine are: Pulp Fiction CE Dances With Wolves Indiana Jones (Trilogy) - However this could be moved do 2012 as not to colide with SW! |

I'd love to see Indy out next year, especially marking 30 years since Raiders but I have a feeling they will hold it back until 2012 to not compete with that other little Lucasfilms franchise that you might've heard of.
I also think Jaws is overdue, especially since it should've been out this year to mark the 35th anniversary. I know the Scream trilogy is out in a barebones Canadian version, but I am keeping fingers crossed that this upcoming spring will see US special editions to coincide with the release of Scream 4. Also hope that Paramount will release more from it's vault after taking 2010 a little too easy. On the list that's already been confirmed, I'm pumped up for: Star Wars The Color Purple Alice In Wonderland (animated) Dumbo Bambi Lion King Fast Times At Ridgemont High |

Would it be too much to ask for these?
More Hitchcock-Vertigo, Rear Window. More Kubrick, esp. Barry Lyndon. Outlaw Josey Wales, Jaws, Pulp Fiction, Man Who Would be King & Little Big Man. (Maybe do for The Quiet Man what they did for African Queen?) |

I had thought for sure that Indy would be out by this fall....all signs seemed to indicate it would. I wonder what made Paramount (or Lucas?) change their minds. It for sure won't come out next fall as to not compete with Star Wars, but could very possibly come out in the spring/summer to capitalize on the
30th Anniversary of Raiders of the Lost Ark. I also fully expect the Scream Trilogy, Fright Night (due to the remake) Finding Nemo, and maybe Jurassic Park and Jaws. But who knows with Spielberg. |

With the distributor thing, doesn't Lucas get final say over the releases though for Indiana as well as he does Star Wars? Lucasfilms owns the franchises and Paramount/Fox are just lucky to distribute them.

Yes he would have a higher say than most producing companies. But they also (paramount) would not yield to his will just because of a competition threat. Lucas would have to settle on a decent compromise that wouldn't see Paramount's titles take a big back seat for the direct benefit of fox.
So all this talk of Indy in summer '11 makes sense and tying it in with a Harrison Ford theatre run would seem to be a good move. I think also they'd have to consider the big 3-0 as a reason to release the trilogy on 2011. Having summer for indy, then that frees up x-mas for Star Wars. Everyone wins? ----------- Me I am now hoping for JP and Lost World this coming year, with some other catalogue titles like 1.Mighty Ducks 2.Lion King 3.The Sandlot 4. American Pie series. Some stuff like that. Things I loved when I was a kid/teenager. I can wait for Indy if need be, and Jaws. I could wait for 2012 if that's how it plays out. Its difficult going cold turkey even for DVD of these, but Im committed. I'm just amped up by having gotten Die Hard, LOTR, BTTF trilogy sets this year complemented by dozens of catalogue titles like armageddon, hard rain, deep impact, mission impossible, enemy of the state. Dozens of months viewing pleasure just in those. |
