Default Precious 2?

Not a movie yet, but I am almost positive it will be...

Sapphire, the author who wrote Push, which was adapted into the Lee Daniels' Oscar-nominated film Precious, has sold a second book to Penguin Press to be published in Summer 2011.

The second novel is reportedly titled The Kid and and will focus on "the son of the main character from Push as he approaches manhood — alone, brutalized and with the soul of an artist."

(Unless the author wrote the book FOR the movie-sequel deal, in which case tradition says we can stop hoping.)

The only hope I have is that if this movie gets made, it has the title "Precious 2: Electric Boogaloo."

Precious is an excellent movie but its one of the ONLY times i've walked away from a film feeling "wow...that took me down a peg er two" .

watching this girls life get steadily worse was tough...christ...i hope the sequel is her going to DisneyLand er something...girl needs a break.

NO DOUBT. Since Oprah loved the first movie so much, maybe Precious 2: Electric Boogaloo will have Precious attend a taping of the Oprah show, and she is the lucky person who wins a dream home or something like that.

Precious 2: Electric Bougalou

Precious 2: Sh*t Re-Happens

Precious 2: FML

Precious 2: Mongo's Revenge

I support the original title idea...as well as these.

When is Oprah (Harpo) and Tyler Perry gonna stop making and producing these crappy films? Spike Lee is what I call a great African American director/producer!

I think Spike has made ONE great film - Do The Right Thing. The rest are all overlong, meandering, and void of a cohesive narrative and story arc. He should focus on story and drop his black agenda, and maybe he will make something decent again.
