Default Some movies "grainy-er" than others

I was testing out a couple of blu-ray movies last night when I noticed a few had an immence amount of grain all over the screen during scene is darker places. I'm starting to worry if it's my PS3 or TV or do some blu-ray movies just look like that? Here are some examples,

Weeds season 1: when the hot MILF (main character) is at home in the the rooms with less light, the screen just fills up with grain in.

300 - entire movie

Payback - 80% of the movie

300 was filmed with a grain filter for effect. It's supposed to look that way. I can't comment on the others since I don't have them.

Grain has always been there on dvd. You just didn't notice it because of the limitations of 480 lines of resolution. With Blu-ray, you are seeing 1080 lines. More detail=more grain. It's always going to be there with Blu-ray.
