why is my dts-ma bit rate at only 4mbps? - Blu-ray Forum

I have a new pioneer vsx 520 hdmi receiver...how come when I check the data rate of the audio when watching blu rays with dts-ma it only says about 4mbps instead of 24mbps?...thanks in advance....also I have a ps3 with it set to lpcm to receiver

The max bit rate is 24 Mbit/s. What you are seeing is the actual bit-rate at that given moment in the movie.

dts-MA uses variable bitrates, taking whatever bandwidth it needs at the time. So, you should see the bitrate fluctuate throughout the movie.

Also makes a difference whether its 5.1, 7.1 etc... 48kHz,96kHz, 192kHz etc... 16bit/24 bit etc
