Default Any Region C titles?

Just curious. I really think it was a dumb move to push the poor countries with high priracy into one region. Do you really think they will get any exclusive titles? Should have been just region A and B or better yet, none at all.

I do not think Region C will ever be used. Region B is hardly used, almost only region A is used and then only on day and dates.

No region c players or movies exists as far as I know but I could be wrong. I think Russia have a Blu-ray manufactor plant but it can press region free and other region discs and is not limited to region c.

Hmm... what about PS3's that are manufactured in India and Russia? There is no confirmation which regions those belong to? Under specifications from Sony, those most be region C, right?

Also, what does 'day and date' releases mean?

Region B is hardly used? All Fox titles in Europe (minus some released in Germany) are Region B. Disney, Sony, EIV, FS-Film and others also use them on many D&D releases.

^ I'm assuming that statement was to ironic? The poster is also from Scandanavia.

Region locked titles will become more and more common. You see it happening already. As the market for HD grows, they will start to release new films more quickly and they will be locked. Hate it, hate it.

No, not all Fox are region coded in Europe. Here are some examples of movies (not from Germany...) that are region free:

Alien vs Predator
Eragon
Men of Honour
Night at the Museum
Sentinel, the

Die Hard 1 and 2 are region free in Germany but I would guess they are also region free in UK.

Fox uses region coding on Blu-rays that are released day and dates with DVD:s but also some other in Europe. They are however also releasing region free discs in Europe and Australia. The Omen is almost region free (you can bypass it if you have a PS3) and I think this was the first disc that hinted Fox starting to release region free discs.

Fox and MGM stands for all the region locked titles released in Europe the latest months but as I have said, even Fox releases region free in Europe.

Hopefully the studios have realized it is only stupid to region code all discs. It certanly looks so in Europe atleast.

Have they released Playstation 3 in Russia and India yet? I have not been able to find any but I could still be wrong.

"Day and date" means day and date with the DVD.

Greetings from Russia, country with high piracy, but not so poor...=)
Russian version of PS3 was released in april 2006, with region C blu-ray.
And we have a lot of BR discs (almost 10=)) released Sony for russian market. All that titles already released in Europe and region free.
But most of russians use region A players (PS3) and BR's region A...

In India, Sony is yet to launch any BDs..........there is very little market for HiDef content for Sony to enter with its Rs. 1500 BDs.
