United Kingdom Seven - Whose are you going to buy?

Apologies if this has already been covered, but a quick search revealed nothing.

October 25th is the release date for Seven on Blu-ray in the Uk but who's copy are you going for?

Amazon seem to be doing a standard release, Hmv's artwork is TBC and Play look like they might have a slip cover. No sign of a digibook like the R1 release or a steelbook

Amazon Uk - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Seven-Blu-ra...2075073&sr=1-1

hmv - http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProduct...;-1&sku=992083

Play.com - http://www.play.com/DVD/Blu-ray/4-/1...n/Product.html

I'll be going for either Amazon US or from Play.

Play.com, Easy, unless HMV has something like a steelbook or something.

Anything will be an improvement over the shitty photocopy quality cover I've got on my Dutch copy.

Will probably opt for the digibook tbh.

They will all be the same. I always pre-order from hmv though (unless there's an exclusive elsewhere).

1. Play's artwork is the most likely final artwork, but I'm sceptical.
2. hmv's artwork is merely a placeholder - do not look into it too much.
3. Amazon's artwork is for the DVD - look in the corner, it even has the DVD logo! This a poorly photoshopped temporary artwork.

US version is apparently region free.

What company is releasing this in the UK? I know in the US, it's New Line Cinema.

Myself, I really want the digibook but it's quite pricey compared to the UK pre-orders.

I think it's being released by Warner Home Video.

Should be whose.

I'll wait for all the reviews, the artwork and then ignore everything and buy the cheapest

I already have the beautiful USA 2-disc Digipak and the really nice plain 2-disc UK DVDs so there'd need to be something very special for me to go over my £11-£12 budget.

Can't wait for that 1080p!

“Whose” is the possessive form of

“who” Who's is a contraction of "who is"

I know, it's been a long day

There will be no difference between the versions on the linked sites. Unless the boxset that some countries are getting, or a steelbook, gets announced this is all it'll be (and I think we'd have heard by now if there was going to be anything else). I'm a digibook fan myself and will be importing it from the States, along with The Exorcist the following month. Pretty sure it's all Warner worldwide so will be region free from UK and US.

Don't suppose you happen to know if The Shawshank Redemption, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest & Poltergeist are R2 compatible?

Amazon says R1 only but was hoping it might be like the Dirty Harry Ultimate Collector's Edition or Gangs of New York (Remastered) are supposed to be

I know Shawshank and OFOTCN are region free, and I think Poltergeist is too.

What ever you do don't buy the one from Amazon UK that looks like the Canadian version and if it is in fact the same one its been modified from it's OAR of 2:35:1 to 1:78:1 which is .

The UK disc will probably mirror the US release. Both Warner.

No point in checking Amazon for these things, they will just put the region of the country they're in, or even put on DVD regions like they did there

Search this site or others for the title, and check whether it's region free that way. But one thing to bear in mind - all Warner Home Video releases are region free, and they release the majority of digibooks (including Shawshank, Cuckoo (though it's becoming unavailable soon due to the new box set release), and Poltergeist). The Exorcist and Seven also fall under this category as well.

What he said.

There's no mention of an exclusive sleeve or artwork, so they will all be the same.
