Any guess on release date? Given what appears to be pretty putrid box office, I imagine they'd want to release it quickly.

My wife and I saw it. Not anywhere in the same ballpark as the first, but we still enjoyed it.

Saw this today.
It wasn't anywhere near the first. In fact, it made the first look like Gone With the Wind or Spartacus. I expected cheese, but also some heart and maybe a story.
Rent first ya'll, rent first (if you miss the sure to short theater run).

will buy the standard Blu-ray version on day 1. I wonder if there will be an extended cut or not?

Hoping the US receives a steelbook so I can cancel my Zavvi order.

Edit: preordered the BB steelbook.

I think I'll go with the Best Buy Steelbook unless Target has exclusive features.

I didn't like it as much as the first, but I liked it enough that I will buy it when it comes out. Hopefully there's an extended edition included in the Blu-ray set. The theatrical cut felt really off.

It's fun. Just not as gleefully fun as the first film.

I really hope it does better box office overseas, because the set up for a final film is tantalizing.

Me too. Saw it at the theater yesterday. Truly dismal. Came home and promptly cancelled my Amazon pre-order.

Saw it yesterday and felt it was just okay at best. Think it came out a few years too late and was a lot more silly compared to the first.

So disappointing and I wasn't even expecting too much from it going in.
[Show spoiler] Nothing but a bunch of actors walking into scenes explaining useless plot points and then a ship shows up and some buildings fall and no one seems to really care all that much and then Jeff Goldblum's dad is on a bus with kids and then some characters die from the first film in uneventful and poorly directed scenes and then a giant alien shows up and then end.

Just so bland and boring, I advise you all to rent this first

Call me crazy, but I really enjoyed it No it wasn't perfect, I think the two biggest problems working against it were the pacing and that it took itself far too seriously, but it was a great time and I look forward to picking this up in the fall

I liked it a lot. It wasn't as good as the first one. I think the sequel took itself more seriously than the first film did. Sure there was some funny lines but everyone was a little too mopey. Sure lots of destruction and death but that was in the original film as well and that didn't seem so dour.
