Default Need help finding a part to make this work...

Alright bluray.com community I need some help. First thing I want to say is that this is not for me, but a friend that is very technically uninclined. I tried to solve this myself but have had little success. Here is the problem...
He has an older model RCA rear projection HDTV(Component/DVI are the 2 HD inputs he has) and recently got him self a new Xbox 360 with rca/HDMI only hookups. He is also getting a blu ray player in the near future(I am selling my old one to him when I get my new one in a month or so) and he wants to take advantage of the HD. Thats where my issue comes in. He needs an adapter that will take the HDMI signal from the source to a DVI input. The DVI input is the DVI-Dual Link port(has 8 columns of 3 prongs all bunched together then it has a sideways slot at the other end.) I looked on monoprice and can find the singles but no duals. The only place I can find one is http://www.consoleshop.com/product.php?productid=17055 and it won't let me register to purchase the darn thing. Can someone else help me find another place to get this, or possibly recommend another option that we can use. I also know that "buy a new tv" will come up and that is in the cards for him around summer time, which is why we are looking for a relatively inexpensive temporary resolution. any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Seems like this would work if your friend doesn't mind not using his own hdmi cable.

Or I guess one of these from a bunch of stores.

just have him go to monoprice.com, buy an HDMI switcher...buy a couple HDMI cables for his devices, then also buy an HDMI-DVI cable to run from the switcher to the TV. This will allow him to have multiple hdmi devices connect to the DVI input.

I use to have an RCA D52W23, this is how it will work.

And use Optical to a receiver for audio if he has one?

(Id give you specific links, but am at work and is filtered)

for once I am a step ahead of you Crackinhedz(someone get a screenshot of this to remind me lol). Ordered the switcher for him as well as 3 Hdmi cables (2 for the devices and 1 for the run to the tv) and was just looking for the connecter. I found one on monoprice that will work, which is weird because when you search under adapters which I was doing it wasn't showing me this option. This is the unit I just purchased....http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2 had to make sure the prongs match up... only question I have is about audio..he doesn't have a surround sound(I know its a crime) so how would we get the sound set up? would we just use some standard rca cables for the blu ray player and an optical that is in the back of the xbox?

Yeah, for the time being he would just use analog Red/White cable.

It will work, trust me! (remember, I also had an RCA HDTV...DVI D ...does not matter if single or dual...and I don't think its dual anyway...dual just allows for a higher resolution...the RCA is only 1080i.)

whats the model number of his RCA?
