Default What is going on at Amazon?

Has anyone else noticed that in the last week or two prices for a lot of titles on Amazon have been steadily dropping lower than ever before. It's not just one or two titles but a large number. I keep getting price drop emails en masse from the camel daily now and some are dropping everyday lower and lower. Really weird stuff.

the physical media apocalypse is upon us. Grab those lower priced titles while you can.

I order a fair number of titles from Amazon and honestly, I haven't seen a large number of price drops. Actually, thinking about it, there seems to be fewer then before. Most of my orders are not for higher budget films so maybe they are the ones dropping the prices.

From what I can tell, it's Gruv.ca and Amazon.ca's automatic price matching that seems to be what's happening. Gruv drops something by a dollar to beat Amazon, then Amazon lowers their price by a dollar to beat Gruv. Rinse and repeat.

It's great to have competition like this. Lower prices for us.

Used to happen often ten years ago when there were Canadian stores that carried BDs.
A lot of Shouts went down to 50% off back in those days.

Wake me when there are massive price drops for things like WAC, Criterion, MM, SF, etc.

I just don’t buy a lot of modern titles and at this point I’m mostly good on my studio catalogue titles. But to each their own.
