Dragon Dynasty new releases - Blu-ray Forum

Why does Dragon Dynasty still release some of its movies in dvd version only even though it has released some other films on blu-ray. This seems particularly true of older shaw brother films from the 70's.

Is it not viable for them to release bring out new releases on blu-ray? Are they concerned that these films won't look much better on blu-ray?

There are some films I want like 5 Venoms, Return of One-armed Swords that I'm holding off on because I want them on blu-ray rather than dvd.

This has annoyed me as well. It makes very little sense to me.

but at least they started over with the spine numbers, unlike Criterion.

Nothing new for blu-ray, I'm afraid. Avenging Eagle is coming out on DVD (first legit Region 1 DVD release) but not on blu. Lame.

I'm guessing their blu-ray titles haven't sold well enough to justify continued releases on the format. At least for now...

this pisses me off too. the selection of films theyve released on Blu so far is kinda lame. still hoping their Hard-Boiled blu wont disappoint like The Killer did.

The only thing Im hoping for is a proper 1080p HD transfer. Of course I'd like some proper subtitles as well but I'd be incredibly naive to think DD would actually deliver on that.
