Default New Line Cinemas

I was wondering is New Line Cinema going to be exclusivly Blu or not. I am not holding my breath because I think New Line Cinema's parent company is Warner and they support both.

They won't be released via WB in Canada. They are going to be distributed via Alliance Atlantis.

New line announced that they were neutral and will be releasing "Hairspray" as their first title this winter.

New Line is owned by Time Warner, but it is run as a separate entity from Warner Brothers. New Line films have many different distributors outside the U.S., and their video releases have historically been quite different from Warner Brothers (ie, different cases and DTS sound on DVD). My guess is that Time Warner may be requesting/demanding a neutral stance at this point, especially if they're really going to attempt to market TotalHD discs at some point.

I was just on their site and it doesn't specify either way what they are doing be it BR or HD DVD so I guess only time will tell.

The same site also reveals New Line's first anticipated Blu-ray releases, which should include Hairspray (2007), Pan's Labyrinth and Rush Hour 3."

All I needed to see out of that was Pan's Labyrinth and I'm satisfied, Rush Hour 3 wasnt too bad either, but still Pan's will dominate.

The upcoming Optimum-UK disc is also going to be region-free (Pan).
