It's nice to see season 2 finally getting a blu-ray release, but the ridiculous price tag of € 74.99 in Benelux borders on robbery...

In France, they'll be releasing the complete series (+ The Final Break), which you can find at Amazon.fr for a very reasonable € 88.99 (http://www.amazon.fr/Prison-break-sa.../dp/B002P9K9YG), and individual boxes of season 2 & 4 cost € 36.99. Even if I was Dutch I'd still buy the French box, considering the huge difference in price (there should be dutch subs on the French seasons 2,3 & 4 for anyone interested).

I think I'll go for the French Box Set. I doubt the U.S. will ever get seasons 2 and 4 on Blu-ray. I'm actually liking the box design, it looks pretty cool. Season 2 is one of my favorites and I can't wait to see it on Blu-ray.

Thanks for the info OP.

Hmmm, on the German Amazon the same box is € 185: http://www.amazon.de/Prison-Break-Co...5192075&sr=8-1

I wonder whether the French price is correct.

The majority of the Dutch who bother to order from a different state probably aren't that interested in sub titles. As long as the original soundtrack is there they should be okay. The language on the site might be a problem though. I'm not sure, but is it possible to change the language to English on the French Amazon? If not, ordering might be problematic. Sure, you can guess the buttons if you ordered a couple of time on the regular Amazon, but credit cards and not knowing what I exactly click on always freaks me out.

I also wonder why season 2 and 4 aren't on the UK's Amazon. Are they trying to hide this release for Americans or so?

It's been like that for a couple of days, a few weeks, so I reckon it's the right price. Pre-ordered it just to make sure.

I think the price is correct. It started at € 97.49, and it's € 99.99 at Fnac.com (which means RRP isn't higher than € 99.99 ). Let's not forget that the show's audience isn't what it used to be, and I'm not sure there are tons of people in France who'd invest almost € 200 in a dead TV show.
There seems to be a tendency in France to set very low prices for TV shows boxsets (check on Amazon.fr the price of DVD boxsets such as The Shield, Veronica Mars, The L Word, Alias, Friends, X-Files, etc. for examples of this).

And like Kynch said, you have nothing to loose if you pre-order. That way you'll get the lowest price guaranteed (but I doubt it'll change).

Unfortunately, it's not possible to change the language to English on Amazon.fr. But you should have no fear ordering with them, it's exactly the same thing as ordering from the US. You can even use the same account !

The only words you need to know are :
- acheter : to buy
- livraison : delivery
- gratuit(e) : free
- maintenant : now
- frais de port : shipping charges
EDIT : Forgot a few important ones :
- ajouter au panier : add to cart
- votre compte : your account
- votre commande : your order
- expédié(e) : delivered
- annuler un article : cancel an item
- aide : help
- etc...

They do have an English help page : http://www.amazon.fr/gp/help/custome...?nodeId=603060

Anyway, if you get adventurous and try the french site, and have a doubt about the meaning of a message you get, I'm sure there are plenty (well maybe not plenty but certainly a few) of French-speaking people here who'd be happy to assist you.
Also, I think you can contact Amazon.fr in English ( http://www.amazon.fr/gp/help/contact...-customer.html ), and they'll respond in English too. Nothing can go wrong, really.

If they have Dutch sub I'm going for the French boxset then. Prices in my country for Blu-rays are waaaaaaaaaaaay to high.

This IS an american show right? Why are they 'hiding' this release for the US? It seems to make little sense really...

Maybe he's one of those who think French covers are verschrikkelijk.

By the way, season 4 blu-ray has now dropped to €28.99 at Amazon.fr (#27 bestselling in blu-ray ²). At that price, I'd be able to bear Hungarian covers, for that matter. (No offense to Hungarian people )

Edit : interesting news, season 2 & 4 are now marked as being region AB on DVDFr.com. Hope it turns out to be true.

Maybe because it is? *lol* :P

But it's really not just the covers, menus can be in the foreign language too and the blu-ray might not remember your language setting. I got CSI Miami a while back on blu from the German Amazon. The menu is German and I've to change the language to English first every time I pop in the disc for another episode.

I can cope with this, especially since I can read a little German (not much though, but enough). Box sets however can still be rather expensive and such little annoyances might be a let down for many.

I see your point, although I don't believe it'll be a problem with Prison Break since it's published by Fox, and they are English-friendly. In any case, I'll be more than happy to confirm any foreign language integration when I get mine.

Talking Yay!!!!

Hey everyone, I was SO excited like the rest of you to hear that Prison Break 2 & 4 are coming to BluRay in other countries! I love Prison Break more than anything and have all the DVDs and other items. I have a question and I'm sorry if I sound annoying asking but I really need to know so I can purchase these BluRays with confidence that I will understand them!! LOL

Anyways, my question is, does anyone know if the spoken language on these will be English? Or will it be in French and we need to use English subtitles? I read that the menus will be in French which makes sense, but I'm hoping that the spoken language is English.

Also, I see they will be region AB. I looked that up on google, but couldn't figure out what it is. Will that play in American Region 1 PS3s?

Last one, how much would EUR 36,99 be in American Cash? I looked it up on the Currency Calendar someone listed here, but it shows 36.99 which seems to be wrong.
Please let me know! Thanks so much!!

Hi, I've got the French blu-ray of Prison Break season 1 and I can tell you that, except for the cover (which is of course in French only), everything (menus, audio, subtitles) is available in English. It will most likely be also the case for seasons 2 to 4.

Region AB means it's gonna be playable on region A (America, etc.) players or region B (Europe, Australia) players, but not region C (Russia, etc.) players. An Example of region AB title is the French / Dutch blu-ray of Juno (see at the bottom of the cover): http://www.gamekult.com/pic/blog/263291_3.jpg. Another example is the French Basic Instinct : http://www.gamekult.com/pic/blog/279997_3.jpg. So basically it means it's OK for region A and B.

EUR 36.99 is about $55, but first you'll need to:
A. remove French tax (19.6%) : EUR 36.99 / 1.196 = EUR 30.93
B. add shipping charges : EUR 9.00 + EUR 1.90 per item
So say you want to buy Prison Break season 2, you're gonna pay EUR 30.93 + 9.00 + 1.90 = EUR 41.83 = $ 62.

I hope this answers your interrogations.

yeah, that sucks and why they would release season 3 on bluray and not 2 and 4 is just weird because season 3 was the worst season of Prison Break, I only have season 1 right now and don't plan on buying season 3 unless 2 and 4 comes out on bluray just to complete the collection...
