Default blu-ray that include shots of the Vatican

Is Angels and Demons the only one?

I thought the movie was so so but if it is my only way to see a hi-def view of the Vatican, I may pick it up.

Angel's and Demons wasn't actually shot in the vatican. From what I remember the Vatican denied them any and all access to film. Some of the wide, exterior shots may have been the real deal, but anything that would have been shot close to or inside the vatican was not the actual Vatican.

Chances are even close up exteriors were not the real thing but models or CGI. Keep in mind that the Vatican is a country in itself so they could deny access not only to shoot inside the buildings but anywhere on the grounds, which includes St Peters Square.

I couldn't say one way or another what exterior stuff is real, but I guarrantee that nothing from inside was real.

Are there any shots of Vatican City in Baraka? I haven't watched it in like a year so I can't remember.

I'm not sure if religulous was released on Blu ray but if it was there would be some shots of the Vatican in there.

I find it kind of weird how every film named so far has something apocalyptic(black hole, Roland Emmerich) happening to The Vatican, has people killing(Godfather, Miiiiiiiiiii) each other, or is anti-religious.

Well, all except Baraka. but that movie is like pure innocence.

I think it's DVD only, and I don't know if I was more surprised by Bill getting in at all, or by how even and rational the priest he spoke to outside was.

Not in HD, only in DVD. 90 minutes inside the Vatican.

Yup, pretty sure it was Cinefex but they had a few page spread showing how it was all CG right down to the huge crowd of people...

Just type vatican into google image search, and use the LARGE option.

http://www.google.ca/images?q=vatica...g&ved=0CAgQpwU

Those are much bigger than 1920x1080

Not sure if you care any longer, but check out Musées du Vatican (3D). While it's currently sold only in France (I think), the disk includes an option for English narration and subtitling and many shots in and around Vatican City (and in 3-D no less).

"The Agony and the Ecstasy" with Charlton Heston and Rex Harrison has beautiful airborne opening shots of the Vatican.
