Default Two Worlds 2

I didn't see a forum here for the Xbox version, so here it is. I picked this game up yesterday and played for about an hour. the game seems much better than the first. There isn't a horrible lag, however cutscenes seem to have a poor framerate. The fighting and crafting system all works well, and so far the Acting and dialogue is better. Also, i reserved mine at Gamestop and got two codes. They you input them makes it seem like it isn't limited to one console. So here are my codes. I'm not sure if they will work, but if they do please post as such so that others can use them too. To input these codes: 1. start a new game 2. press pause 3. go to enter promotional codes 4. enter the codes

Labyrinth level

4206-2510-8103-6879

Luciender Sword

9526-9517-7382-4673

If these work, and you got a different bonus from somewhere else please post them on here. Thank you, and have a great day.

Just picked up the game today as well. I completed the first one w/ a score of ~ 980. Pretty much owned the game. Loved it!

Going to try it out tonight. I hope the skill changer is still a part of the game.

I'll add you. though I'd like to play through the SP a bit more first.

First Impressions

- for some reason, the on screen hud data was being cropped off my TV, after digging a bit, there is a setting under graphics - to keep safe area ON. That helps out alot

- the beginning is nothing like the first. they make you tunnel through some things to teach you the basics...which I find kinda boring. The first just dropped you off in town and you had to fend for yourself. groms could kill you, now it seems to be a bit easier, even on medium difficulty.

- the menu system is adequate - though i feel it could have been polished a bit more.

I'll wait to judge the game until I fully understand it's mechanics. But first impressions aren't wowing me.

Well, made it out of the prologue, and things got alot better. Impressions of the game are getting more positive now!

I need to work more on combat and blocking. Seems the gromms block alot more this time around.

Level 14 now.

I'm really digging this game now, it's super addicting. The world is massive and you can go anywhere, pretty much do anything. The leveling is balanced and it lets you choose to be a fighter, assassin, magic user or archer...or a combo of them.

One of the coolest features in this title compared to the first, is that you can break down items into raw materials and use those materials to upgrade your weapon of choice. This saves you from having to constantly buy upgraded weapons. A nice feature I'm using alot.

My character is a combo fighter/archer with a small mixture of assassin. I haven't explored the magic use in the game yet.

The game reminds me alot of Morrowind.

The first Two Worlds was so bad that I never even considered buying this sequel before seeing some reviews.

I played the first one after the patches came out, it was super difficult at the beginning and had some glitches, but I didn't think it was terrible. I mean, I've played better but the weapon stacking, card stacking and armor sets kept me looking for more. The story and voice acting was terrible though.

This is better than Sacred 2...and I'm liking it better than Oblivion. If you go into a house and slay someone, guards dont magically appear and arrest you.

Forgot to mention, another major change from the first to the second game...once you die, the game is over.

If you recall, in the first game, you'd respawn at the teleport nearest where you died.

You can set your autosave in the game...the default is 10 minutes, but I switched mine to 5.

Another option that needs to be switched from default are the icons in your inventory. I changed mine to text until I learned which icons represented which stat.

Review from Destructoid. I agree with the review, the first hour is painful, but after that, the game for me is 9/10.

Quote:
Destructoid join the growing list of fans of Two Worlds II with Jim Sterling's latest and very detailed review of TW2 on Xbox360. Dtoid's editor notes the definite areas that need polishing, and the rather slow and bland start:

The first hour or so of Two Worlds II is downright terrible. The game starts with a tawdry prison breakout mission, as your nameless Hero escapes from the clutches of Gandohar, the series' sister-kidnapping, stereotypically tyrannical villain. The game is slow, the Hero is weak, and the enemies feel imbalanced. Not to mention, the combat is a dire case of random button-mashing with a targeting system that only works when it wants to.

After the awkward and cliched beginning the game begins to grow - and so does fondness for it:

The game's sense of humor is one of its most endearing traits, with Two Worlds II never quite taking itself seriously. While some of the voice acting can be genuinely bad, a vast majority of the performances are almost knowingly silly and over the top. The game is full of strange in-jokes and dry wit, and the overall story is lighthearted, despite being about a kidnapped sister and a quest to save the world. Two Worlds II has a very strong sense of individuality about itself, and that's more than can be said for many games with twice the production values.

Despite the many issues there, TW2 gets a well-deserved 8/10, with the following commentary:

I hated my first hour or so of Two Worlds II. I believed I was in for a boring, dreary, aggravating eighty hours of wasted life that I'd never be able to get back. I was wrong. Two Worlds II is the perfect gaming equivalent to a diamond in the rough. It's ugly, it's coarse, and it's got one foot in the past, but it's just too damn lovable to be thrown into the trash.

Two Worlds II is better than Two Worlds. By several thousand miles.
