How about a thumbs up/down option?

Anyway to put a tumbs up or down thingy on posts so people can see or what not if otheres agree with what they are syaing. this would be especially helpful for threqads with questions about setups, settings, etc etc etc. i would think that would be a great little expansion if you guys could make that happen !

I'm not sure something like this would be good. There's far too many immature people here who would see a post from someone they don't like and then just rate it as low. Then there's also the other factor where if someone is spewing useless or misinformation but has a following, they'll still get thumbs up. Sort of like when we had the 5-star rating for threads.

This has been brought up several times before, and since it hasn't happened, it ain't likely to happen in future. IMO....that's a good thing, as it's nothing but a popularity contest anyway.

well then maybe only the moderators or the really high standing members could vote then? that way people know its for real and not a popularity contest. something along that line.

and another thing i was thinking about. the threads with a few thousand posts in em... maybe you could slim them down some, somehow. and maybe start to delete some threads or maybe make it so that the thread OP could delete their own thread? or even re-title it?

We had a rep system last year (or was it in 2009?). It was disabled pretty quickly (a couple of weeks?) because it turned into a big popularity contest. People were constantly "repping" their buddies for no reason.
