A offical 360 composite-hdmi lead?
An audio-visual device, commonly used items are Televisions, projectors are the great also. When chosing a TV, you will be looking for the specification of 'full HD' or 1080p ('p' which relates to the vertical & horizontal information been refreshed each way at the same time). So 1080p really means 1920 lines by 1080 lines Progressively scanned. Now we move to the fact that if you are a gamer as I am. You would appreciate that the information been related into the tv exectra & then too your brain. Gets there at optimum or near perfect speed. Say 12-18ms (milliseconds) trouble is you have to really get suck into researching kit. Anyhow I hope I have helped in some way] Last edited by GunZenBomZ; 01-21-2011 at 08:23 PM. |

bought a 60" LCD yesterday, yes its 1080p. My xbox hooks to my av receiver via the 5 componet wire leads supplied. My BD player is hooked to the onkyo as well, I"m having no problems viewing BD's in 1080p, but the xbox won't switch over.
Perhaps the 606 won't take 1080p short of hdmi. Is there a xbox av bundle with hdmi on the other end? |

Did you set your Xbox to output 1080p?
I think it defaults to 480i if you use anything other than HDMI. The oder version may be different, but I believe that is what I read when researching the newer models. BTW, do not ask me where that setting may be. I have not had to look for it and my son will not give up the TV and his Madden game for me to look. ![]() |

Its in the settings on dashboard. When I select 1080p the screen goes blank for a few seconds, then it reverts to 1080i.
Did the original units come with componet cables not capable of 1080p. Its either the cables or the input on the AVR. |

I thought the only way to get 1080P was with an HDMI cable. My old Toshiba projector was connected with a VGA/Component cable and my display was at 1080i......which was still a damm fine picture I might add.

Lately a 1080P signal requires an HDMI cable. Although component is capable of handling it, on all newer devices Component will only allow you to go up to 1080i. If it's not going to 1080P, why not change it to 720P? From many articles and professionals I have spoken to, they have said that 720P is better than 1080i (it's a matter of Math in how many pixels are refreshed at a time). That being said, most if not all games on the 360 are natively 720P anyways, and your Xbox won't need to up-convert to 1080. 720P still looks amazing.

Not sure how old your console is, but does it have HDMI plug on it? I'm not 100% sure, but I think it was mostly Elites that had them. Something that blew me away was my new 250GB 360 didn't come with one. I had to use the one that came with my Resident Evil Elite. Which is fine until I get a flatscreen in our living room
