IGN favors HD-DVD is only trying to spread panic. Read the bottom of this link...

I would say that IGN's article is far from definitive.

But do remember that they are owned by News Corporation. If they were to have any bias, it would most likely be blu-tinted.

This appears to just be a regurgitation of the LA times story. I think Digital Bits already said that the offer for WB was old news and WB rejected it.

Leave it to your Uncle Teazle to copyedit the opening paragraph as follows:

Original version:
September 10, 2007 - Not sure what to make of the ongoing format war? Well, the Los Angeles Times feels your pain. In a recent articled entitled, "A High-Definition Fight Scene in Slow Motion," the publication provides a concise overview of the format war, as well as offers some new information which enlighten current events.

Amended version:
September 10, 2007 - Not sure what to make of the ongoing format war? Well, neither are we, and the Los Angeles Times exacerbates your pain. In a recent articled entitled, "A High-Definition Fight Scene in Slow Motion," the publication provides an unnamed-sources'-eye-view of the format war, and offers some fortnight-old information which do little to enlighten current events.

Our Gear Pages' very own Gerry Block, who recently received his Mohawk from Columbia, says that the whole thing is highly confusing for consumers, by which he means that HD-DVD ought to win despite the fact that almost no one is buying players or discs -- very confusing indeed ... etc etc etc
