Default Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman Blu-ray listed on Amazon.ca

Found this listing on Amazon.ca:

Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman Blu-ray

Can't find details anywhere on this on any other site. Could this be a mistake or perhaps a pre-listing despite the 10/4 date?

There are actually four animated movies from Warner Brothers listed as been released on Blu-Ray on 4th October 2011 on Amazon Canada:
Batman Mystery of the Batwoman
Scooby-Doo and the Legend of The Vampire
Scooby-Doo and the Monster of Mexico
Tom and Jerry Blast Off to Mars

I suspect the release date is an error, since a later release date of 3rd April 2012 is listed at another online shop (Cineplex) in Canada. Especially since there were similar Blu-Ray releases of animated movies (1 Batman, 2 Scooby-Doo, 1 Tom & Jerry) in April 2011.

I ordered all four titles from Amazon Canada anyway, but I expect the release date will just be updated.

This is probably the worst direct to video animated Batman movie. Its little more then a far inferior rip off of Mask of the Phantasm. Seriously why is that one not coming to Blu-Ray. It is better then the God awful Superman Brainiac Attacks which was flat out unwatchable but Mystery of Batwomen is still a weak animated movie

Yeah... I don't understand why Mask of the Phantasm hasn't come out on Blu-ray yet. That movie was the only DC animated feature to have been released in the theaters. Surely that would make it a prime candidate for a Blu-ray release?

I'm sure it's because Mystery of the Batwoman isn't nearly as old and is probably a lot easier (cheaper) to release. It is the weakest DCAU movie, but I'd still get it. I want really nice versions of Mask of the Phantasm and SubZero.

Well if the print on the DVD is any indication Mask of the Phantasm would require severe remastering to look good on Blu-Ray. Mystery of Batwoman is a digital production so transfering to Blu-Ray is probably alot more cheap

Still Mask of the Phantasm is a far superior movie and far more loved by fans so I think it would definutely sell better

That's right folks, today I received my copy of Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman in Blu-ray.

I added the whole info in the title's page here in Blu-ray.com:

I pre-ordered it online at a national-wide shopping store, but it's already out on streets in many disc and music shop and super markets, not an exclusive or anything.

Spanish: Dolby Digital 2.0 (Latin America)

Could you suggest a good online store to get Mexican releases? that ships internationally.

Yup, the store where I got it, but it doesn't seem to be English friendly:

http://www.sanborns.com.mx/

Just run a search for the title you want (make sure you select the category DVD y Blu Ray) but with the title in Spanish, then in the Item page clic in "Compra este artículo", then register a new user under "Vivo en el Extranjero (fuera de México)".

Again, everything is in Spanish but the online service and shipping is great.

Another one you can try:

http://www.mixup.com.mx/

Batman: MotB item pages:

How much would you say it costs to ship to the US?

Nice to see a confirmed Blu-ray release and that it's 1.78. I wasn't terribly fond of the movie or anything, but I thought it was all right, and was greatly peeved by the 4:3 cropped DVD. iTunes has the movie in its correct aspect ratio, I later found out.

It's ridiculous: I don't love the movie or anything, but whenever the BD hits US shores, it'll be the third time I've bought the movie.

Agreed with earlier posters that Mask of the Phantasm needs a nice BD release. That's my favorite Batman movie, ever. Though I've always been bummed that the animation (mind you, the animation, not the art) wasn't up to snuff with some of the best Batman: The Animated Series episodes, particularly Kevin Altieri's anime-inspired work.

I agree about the Phantasm animation- if TMS (animators of such episodes as Feat of Clay and Heart of Steel) had done the movie it would've of looked far superior. Characters just move from one end of the screen to the other at an alarmingly low frame rate, which brings the production down a notch. I truly think if they had just slowed the pace down and invested more money in the animation, they would've made the already-good movie a classic.

But let's face it, even as is Mask of the Phantasm looks like the greatest animated movie of all time next to Mystery of the Batwoman. MotB is so crappy-looking it makes MotP look like Akira.
