Default Ye olde Bandwidth limitation: HD Fanboy response.

Okay, I've tried to argue that bandwidth limitations, not just storage capacity is preventing HD DVD from putting lossless audio tracks on the vast majority of HD DVDs. I toss in "King Kong", "Transformers" and the whopping 85% of HD DVD titles without lossless audio as examples. A couple of the arguments I get back are:

"Superman Returns" 154 minutes, TrueHD
"Batman Begins" - 134 minutes, TrueHD, IME

Toss in the "Matrix" Trilogy and "300" as other examples of HD DVD's capability to compete with Blu-rayesq PQ/SQ.

What's the Blu-ray response, if any ?

Some lame excuse about higher video bitrates means slightly better, perhaps infinitisemally perchievable increase in PQ. Or the PQ on all the aforementioned titles are overrated and could have been better if they moved bitrates from the audio bucket to the video bucket....

The best argument I can come up with is Blu-ray is going to be able to support music videos with reference quality high def video and 5.1 24/96 lossless audio tracks. (I've already had one music producer admit he does not think it can be accomplished on HD DVD because of the bandwidth limitations).
