Default quick question

I haven't set up my stuff yet since I'm in the process of moving but I have a samsung plasma, a ps3, 360, comcast hd dvr, and a sony bdv-e770 htib. My question is that since the htib has one hdmi out and an digital optical do i just run the optical cable to the tv and get 5.1 surround sound through everything plugged in the tv or do I run a digital coaxial to the cable box for surround sound with cable channels and digital optical for surround with everything else plugged in my tv.

smooth your are right all you would have to do is run the optical to the TV. then any component hooked to the TV should play thru the HTiB. good luck.
