Default Really been that long?

Have any of you noticed it (has) seemed so long since some of the movies we own now were in theaters?

Such as me seeing V for Vendetta in theaters in New-Mexico when I was 17 (now I'm ~21). Seems so long ago

The day after tomorrow
Spiderman 1 & 2
Shrek 1 & 2
Toy Story 1 & 2
Back to the Future 1 - 3
Lord of the rings (Fellowship, two towers, Return of the king)
Men-In-Black & MIB 2
Office space
Princess bride

What-ever-else you can think of. It just seems so long even though some are from the last decade.

LoTR, all 3. can't believe the last one came out in 2003, seems like just yesterday people were saying LoTR would never become movies.

Seems like just yesterday I was standing in line with my friends and my highschool algebra teacher were standing in line for Revenge of the Sith's midnight show...back in 05. I was a freshman. I'm 21 now...but it seems like yesterday.

And before that, a group of my friends and I went to see Matrix Reloaded, opening day, in seventh grade...But I remember it so vividly. I can't believe it's been that long...

I remember seeing Home Alone as one of my first movies in the theater, and it was awesome. I loved the traps Kevin set throughout the house.

On another note, I distinctly remember seeing the Tom and Jerry movie, in which I went with several of my cousins and my Grandma, and I was the only one not asleep at the end. Come to think of it, a group of us also went to see Carpool with Tom Arnold, which was pretty terrible, lol. My Grandma was never known as making the best movie choices, lol But she treated us all very well

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation was a blast at the theater...... If a theater re-played it during Christmas, I'd go in a heartbeat!

I can't believe it's been 5 years since Casino Royale was released. Seems just like a year or so.

+1 Absolutely! One of the funniest Christmas movies period, and one of the two best National Lampoon's!

While I'm sort of floored that LOTR is coming on 10 years old, I'm far more impacted at the age of other films I saw on their initial release.

Empire Strikes Back
Back to the Future
Batman
Who Framed Roger Rabbit

When movies I grew up with start celebrating their 25th and 30th anniversaries - I'm not as young as I used to be.

I remember seeing ET with friends. I remember that one more vividly than Star Wars, but I went back a few times to see Star Wars. We even bought the soundtrack on vinyl.

It has been 43 years since I saw 2001: A Space Odyssey in the theater, the special effects are still legit, despite the fact they weren't computer-generated in those days. Incredible. A few years later when I was 18, I remember feeling sorry for my sister-in-law when she turned 28, because I thought that was old.
