This is tough....

1. Lord of the Rings
2. Star Wars
3. Indiana Jones
4. Harry Potter
5. Terminator

I was so torn trying to decide between Terminator, Matrix and Alien.

I'd change it slightly to be 'Top 5 Film Franchises that didn't completely suck by the last film'...

Frankly I think James Bond is the only one that is still good.

It really is hard to pick 5. I forgot to include:

Friday the 13th
Die Hard
Rambo
Terminator
Harry Potter

I love them all!

Does movies adapted from Charles Dickens go under franchise?

Terminator
Alien
Back to the future
Die hard
Star wars OT

If the above question is valid, replace Die hard with Great expectations/Oliver Twist/Christmas carol.

Yea, it was really hard for me to choose as well. I really wanted to add Terminator, Bond (Connery, Dalton, and Craig years), Alien, Lord of the Rings and Dirty Harry as well. It was hard to choose...haha.

Somebody can't count, you picked six, which means Die Hard gets left out in the cold. I love Back to the Future also but I think they're just fun movies, I don't consider them important to Hollywood.

I said I couldn't choose between the those two, they're both my favorites. They're both number one so you shut your face. And Back to the Future is my favorite movie ever, I consider it important to Hollywood.

I am surprised a film franchise that has been going since the 60s and has spanned 23 films is not getting more love in this thread, I guess Mr. Bond just isn't that popular any more. Silly kids!

I really only like about half of the films in the Bond franchise, so it's not one of my favorites. Where as I enjoy all the films in the others. That's the only reason I didn't choose it as my top 5.

I understand not being able to choose, but when you have two (2) # 1's then the next spot is # 3. So Die Hard (at #5) must come off your list.

You can't justify your way to getting 6 picks when the question was top 5.
