French Cinema

I love French cinema but sadly I do not speak French.

I have already secured a lot of French films on blu ray from UK, USA and France itself.

Does anyone have a list of French films, with English subtitles, that they can recommend to me.

James many thanks for your wonderful list. These are all French classics and I have them all in one form or another. I am more interested in modern Franch cinema. I have bought quite a few from Amazon France but it's all a bit fumbling in the dark. Thanks so much for you extremely kind suggestions though.
