Default Amazon Cloud

So what does everyone think of Amazons new cloud storage? Here is a link to their page that describes what it's all about. I think it's a fantastic idea and it came out of nowhere. I was expecting Apple to pull this off first not Amazon. They are on a roll right now between this, instant streaming, and their android app store. I can't wait to see what else they have planned.

Yeah I know it came out of nowhere. They give you 5gb free and if you buy any mp3 album they will upgrade you to 20gb. I tried it out this morning and it works great. I uploaded music and pictures and I can stream the music to my phone with their cloud player.

Not a bad idea. I may just have to give this a try.

It's nice, but I wish they would release apps for other smart phones as well. I know they are heavily vested in android; but I'd like to see them using a more open approach with this service, and respect the preferences of ALL of their smart phone owning customers.

I imagine they plan to beat Apple to the punch by beating them to cloud music on iOS. I'm not sure what their plans are for other os's but i bet Amazon will try to roll it out to as many devices as possible or at least i would hope so.

the cd was stored to my clouddrive and I can download it later if I want, or, I can just listen to it straight from the internet...wow..

ok, one more thing..

I just downloaded Amazon MP3 to my Droid and you can access your cloud drive directly from your smart phone....you can play the songs straight from the drive or you can download them directly to your phones hard drive.

this thing is getting better and better by the hour.

Sounds great, might look into it (I pray that videos will be included eventually, we seriously need a well thought out solution on the droid platform).

I uploaded some songs to my Cloud Drive from my laptop at home last night but when I try to view my Cloud Drive on my Droid X it says "You have no music on Cloud Drive".

I must be doing something stupid.

Can you access the cloud drive from an android device, and stream/ play video from there? Would it work with the digital videos bought from Amazon?
If yes, that'd be awesome.

What I ment by that is Amazon has a dedicated music player for you music files in the cloud( something that Apple is rumored to do with iTunes). Mobile Me is just cloud storage.
