Default Star Trek Movie Collection Boxed Set - 2 kinds?

I am a new Star Trek fan. Heavy into Enterprise right now and I will be watching every series and movie in timeline order.

I was talking to a friend of mine and he said there are 2 different Star Trek Movie collection box sets out on Blu-ray, a standard set containing the original series' film collection and then a collector set containing all 9 movies (original series/tng).

Anyone have any info if this is true or not?.

First off, there are ten films. And in the US, there are two boxsets - one with the first six TOS crew films and a second with the four TNG crew films. In the UK there is a ten film boxset.

Yeah, I am familiar with the 2009 movie. I own the Blu-ray for that one already.

So is the UK set region free?. I'd like 1 big complete boxed set. Is there a difference in PQ from the US and UK releases?.

and thanks 4 ur help!.

There was a boxed set with all ten films in it but there was a limited print run on that set. It's been out of print for some time. You can find it on Amazon's Marketplace for the secondary resale market. But, the prices are going to be outrageous.

Yes the UK discs are region free and the picture and audio is identical to the US releases.

I originally had the UK 1-6 set and the US 7-10 set but sold them last year when the 1-10 Boxset was only £55 as I much prefer having each film in a proper BD case instead of the super slim one's in the seperate sets.

I made no mention of the 2009 film. There are 11 total Star Trek films. 6 TOS films. 4 TNG films. And the 2009 film.

Why? You can spend around $80-$90 for both of the US boxsets.

Yeah I just found out there is 11 films total, I thought u meant the 2009 was included.

Yeah, i can get the 2 sets seperately for much cheaper BUT I am a display collector so having the complete set in 1 box looks cooler. I dunno yet.

Man, there is no WAY it's worth an extra $200, no matter how much nicer it looks

The $200 you "save" (if you can call it saving) can cover most of the original TV series on blu-ray

Something weird just happened. So I went to my usual Blu-ray guy to order the boxed sets (the seperate ones) and he said the TNG Movie Set isn't out until the fall. But now I am thinking the retarded was thinking I meant the Season 1 Box set and not the Movie box set.

grrrr

Why do you have a "guy" for ordering? Sounds like some Mafia code - "Hey, I've got a guy for that. Don't worry about it." You can easily order these sets from most retailers.

Also, calling someone who is not handicapped a retard is not OK. You should cool it with that nonsense.

i'm just 50/50 on weather i should shell out the cash on this, i do love Star Trek but i just want to know if this set is worth it.

The guy is the owner of my local shop that I get my Blu-rays from.

So I got everything ordered. Now is the waiting game. Even thought it'll be a while before I can actually watch these considering I'm only on season 2 of Enterprise.

Does anyone here actually own that UK complete box set and would be able to post some pics of it?.
