Default Disc Problem

This is now happening to another one of my blu rays, the first season of Eastbound and Down. The disc will either take forever to play, or it won't play at all. The two blu ray players I have been trying it on was a Sony and an LG.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

Thanks.

It could be a defective disc, but are both players fully up-to-date on the firmware updates? Make sure they are. If both of the players are up-to-date on firmware updates, I would take the disc back and get an exchange.

I was not aware you could update your players, I'll try that.

The play time will just stay at 00:00 and do nothing.

If your players are connected to the internet, simply check the Network Update on the player. Otherwise you can look on their websites and load the firmware update on a USB drive and load it that way.

That's most likely the issue. If the problems continue after updating your players, then you most likely have a defective disc and should exchange it for a new one.

Well it appears I'm a bit behind on my system information because I'm still on version .009 when their latest is .024.

But a disc may not play if the player is not up to date, seriously?

Some discs have certain information on it that aren't provided on your current firmware, which is why the update is needed. I have a Sony player in the family room, which needs an update once every few months, but it only takes around 3 minutes. It's very quick.

The region free player I have in my bedroom has never had a firmware update and has never had a problem playing a disc, I guess I got lucky haha.

Just update your players and report back on your results. I hope it works after your update!

I hope my region free player has the same luck, trying to update it would definitely ruin it

I ran into the same dilemma. The update for my Blu-Ray player takes away the region free functions. So I didn't update the player and have never had a problem ever had an issue playing any disc.

What brand is your player?

It is LG, I think the 550, I've had it 2 months and not experienced any issues although I was warned by the people who modified it not to connect it to the internet

At least you haven't been having any issues with it. I hope both of our luck continues.
