Default Used copy of APP - I, Robot?

I've been contemplating picking up a used copy of this on MOFI, but the guy wants $85.

I need your thoughts? Do it or pass?

Hi John, I got my copy for what I considered a real bargain at I believe $48. Now if that one is one of the ultra discs and in real good shape the $85 is a reasonable price. One thing is for sure, that is one fine album first song to last and the dynamics are first rate.

Ok John I just looked back at my records and I paid $41 for that one, a huge bargain. I just looked around and the $85 actually isn't to bad if it is graded mint and you really like the music I'd do it. Hell I paid $100 for my copy of Muddy Waters Folk Singer. Also, I was kidding about the ultra disc and that price being a bargain (what an understatement that was) have you seen the prices they are asking for the UHQR versions. The lowest price on one of those that I could find was $250.

I don't think it's the UHQR 200-gram version, although that would be sweet indeed! I will likely drop by my dealer today and check it out!

I take it this is a used copy of the album? I have the original Arista recording and the mofi recording is superior by a wide margin. John, do you happen to have the mofi cd of this album? I have been thinking of trying to pick one up if I can get it at a reasonable price.

Do you have an opportunity to inspect the LP first? I would have to insist on a right of return if it had any scratches, pops, clicks, surface noise, etc.

I know a lot of the out of print mofi lp's are fetching quite a price these days. I don't know if $85 is worth it though.

Hi guys,

Never did get a chance to drop by the vinyl shop today, so it'll have to wait. And yeah, no problem on checking the vinyl first, and also on bringing it back should it not be to my satisfaction. I know there were other premium reissues, but the Mofi beats them all (so they say) Although the price may be a tad high, it is my fave APP album, which is why I'm kind of pining for it.
