$249 price point - check
$40 dollar games - check
2nd analog stick - check
region free gaming - check

Sony is doing everything right with the VITA. I even hated the name at first but it's grown on me, and the name of the device is the least important thing anyways.

It also has a VERY solid line up of games coming out for it. Uncharted, Resistance, LittleBigPlanet, LittleDeviants, Gravity, BioShock, Street Fighter X Tekken.

It's basically a PS3 for your pocket. I never liked portables before, but I think I'm going to get this one.

I voted for yes within the first year but if I have the cash at the time I will get it day 1

Same goes for the PS 3D stereoscopic display

I will not get it and I think handheld's gaming days are numbered.

Cell phones will dominate handheld gaming.

Just my thoughts.

If a phone shop does a deal where I can pick it up on a monthly contract over 18 months or something, then maybe, but I'd rather just buy the wifi version. However, I don't tend to have a couple of hundred pounds lying around waiting to spent on self indulgent whims!

I like the look of it, but I fear it could be a while before one comes my way

I bought the PSPGo when it was released,... I don't want more video game stuff currently but on down the line who knows.

By then, the PS Vita and 3DS would probably be on the market for a decent lifespan. If not, they will both be long in the tooth by that time.

Cell phone control schemes would still need to improve quite a bit as well. Will cell phone makers be willing to add these things and possibly alienate the typical cell phone buyer? There will be a lot of things they need to figure out. In the meantime, I'll be enjoying the Vita.

A day 1 purchase almost guarantees me 3 years of unchallenged gaming and other entertainment! Then, seamless gaming between Playstation devices guarantees the usefulness of the Vita over it's life. That's a very sound investment!

By the time cell phones are ready to handle all of those functions, properly; I'll be ready for it.

Not sure if this is a day one purchase for me, but I will pick up the original model (sooner if homebrew becomes available

). At the very least, I plan to purchase one, and maybe a second later down the line (as a backup). No 3G model for me, not as long as AT&T is an exclusive provider.

Its yes for me, I have it on pre-order now. Had to go with the wi-fi version, I get no 3G coverage where I live

As much as I want it...the only game I think I would actually want is Uncharted. So I need to just learn to save the money...cause it would literally sit on the shelf 90% of the time.

maybe, but not at the quality vita can provide. touchscreen gaming only ftl

same for me, I love it, but at the same time, I rarely have time for portable gaming, when I have gaming time I will always be dragged on my ps3. But that uncharted game....

Exactly. This happened when I had the GBA. My GCN was getting too much lovin'. And now that I work.....

I'll be getting one, but the price is going to have to come down here in the UK from what is currently on shopping sites.

Will get it but not sure if I will get it right away or wait for some games this time like I should have with the 3DS. I do love DOAD at least though. But on the flipside the only time I ever liked the PSP was at launch and then an extreme hatred of it took over.

At $249, this is a no brainer for me. I'm going to sell my PSPgo and put the proceeds towards this sucker. I mean c'mon, the second analog stick and upgraded visuals for games like Resistance: Retribution, MGS: PW, GOW: CoO & GoS is reason enough for me to buy this thing day one.

And then you've got new games built from the ground up for this system including two from two of my all time favorite franchises, Uncharted and LBP.

And I just know there are going to be some sleeper hits not being talked about as much. Like Little Deviants or that other one. Then there's that Super Stardust.

A big 'ol fat yes from me.
