Suggestions? upgrading from a Sony BDP-S350

So today was the last straw for my Sony BDP-S350. I have had several instances in which i could not get my blu-rays to recognize. Movies that were once easily loaded began to get an "Unknown Disc" error. So after going through to see if i was behind on firmware, which i wasn't, and taking the player apart to clean the laser ive decided its time for an upgrade. I loved the functions of the player and its features while they all worked. My price range isn't strict i dont mind spending $500 on a quality player. The only feature that I am looking for is the ability to bitstream the most popular formats. So any help is appreciated honestly. I am just looking for someone to steer me in the right direction seeing as I have been out of the loop for about a year. Thanks!
