I switched from AT&T to Vonage in January, but the cost went up more than twice the introductory rate
![]() Thanks for any advice! |

I use it...
pretty good....all you need to make sure you have internet...that's it. I was paying $30 through ATT and decided to use Ooma for $3 (FCC tax) every month. The unit itself is $200. ATT charging me $30 x 12 = $320 ANNUALLY. Within 7 months, the device is paid off and I just need to pay $3 every month.... If you want to keep the same number and port it over, it'll cost you $40 one time fee for processing. If not, then they'll let you choose a new number for free. The clarity is pretty much the same with ATT because both of them are using IP anyway. The only negative part... 1. Make sure you don't download while using the phone at the same time...the voice on the other end can be choppy. 2. Don't buy the Ooma handset phone....very crappy quality. I returned it after people complained about the quality. Beside that, I recommend it. Last edited by crystal_sun; 07-15-2011 at 04:15 PM. |

Thanks Crystal. It sounds pretty good, I'll do it. I do a lot of international calling and would probably have to pick one of their monthly plans - I think one is $9.99 and the other is $15 or 20. And I'll probably change my number as well, too many telemarketers...
