Default Time to upgrade

Well it's time to upgrade. I am currently looking to get a new receiver with HD codecs and 3D capabilities. My 3 choices so far are Onkyo TX-SR309, Pioneer VSX-520-k & Pioneer VSX-820-k. I want to keep my budget as low as possible so I wanna spend no more than $200. I will be using the receiver in my 12x12 bedroom so I do not need anything fancy.

I noticed 1 thing that I wasnt to sure about....The Onkyo receiver does 65 watts per channel @ 8 ohms while the 2 Pioneer receivers will do 100 watts per channel, (my speakers are rated at 8 ohms) is there going to be a big difference? I mainly will be using the receiver with my ps3 for bluray & games. I would like to either buy locally at Fry's, Best Buy or at Amazon. All help and suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks

I would also like some input regarding an inexpensive receiver...

I have been considering what this post is considering for my neighbor...not too expensive, will run his surround sound (in-ceiling speakers), he doesn't have an ear for audio

So I was thinking a Denon avr-1312 for $249.99 might do it

Five 110 watt channels, 3D ready with 1.4 HDMI, 2-year warranty

What say you?

I would like to purchase from a local store so I don't have to worry about it arriving damaged and if there is a problem with the receiver I could drive and return/exchange it without having to ship it back.

jim, Id take the road of saying have your neighbor buy from A4L.com like Sandman said above, for $250-300 he would get a better receiver. the onkyo 508 would be probably a little better receiver then the one your lookin at. Or if he can get into the budget of the 608. Theres also a few marantz's on there that would be worth the $$ if he isn't so big on 3D
