Default Does the quality of the RCA cable matter?

I have a sub from a HTiaB setup and it came with a thin RCA cable to go from the woofer to the receiver. I'm buying a new (real, lol) subwoofer and want to know if i should also buy a new RCA cable of higher quality (from monoprice or something).

Thanks!

Buy a better RCA cable for the new sub. As Bluvette said monoprice is a great place to get it.

You can get a good heavy shielded cable with fancy ends~ RG6/U

Or A heavy shielded one without the fancy ends~ RG59U

I would say it does matter. Up until recently I was also using Monoprice Sub cables, and for whatever reason my sub was functioning intermittently so I went ahead and spent more money on some Monster cables and no more issues at all. I'm glad that fixed the problem. Can't really say where the monoprice cable went wrong, but I can say that I was troubleshooting with three separate ones...and it wasn't until I switched to the better quality cable that the problem went away.

Not knocking Monoprice because I still use plenty of their products, but in this particular instance Monster was the solution...

The issue could be the "connections". Sometimes the less expensive cables don't have very good terminal ends.

I ordered some new cable from monoprice and I think they sent me the wrong one. I got the RCA cable with two plugs on one end, can I use only one of those with my sub without any bad side effects? I've read advantages to plugging them both in but my current sub has only one input.

what EXACTLY (link please) did you order? the only thing with two plugs on the end is the Y-adapter that is only 6 inches long.

anyone know if monoprice makes 1 male to 2 male RCA cable? I looked all over the site but couldnt find it.
