Default Would you buy a Blu-ray without slipcover?

Depends. Slipcovers are good to have. Movies still come first.

I like slipcovers a lot, but not that much.

I can go either way with my slips. I DEFINITELY don't throw them away, but sometimes I'll have them displayed, other times I think my collection looks better with no slips, all cases.

Absolutely...a slipcover although nice is nothing worthwhile to me. I buy films for films. Not slipcovers.

Yes. TDK and Let Me In had pretty cool slips but for the most part I couldn't really care less.

Slipcovers are a redundant waste of cardboard so yes. They make a collection look tacky and less unified sitting on a shelf.

I do retain the ones I get though in storage.

True, if you have have your slips mixed in with your "naked" movies. But personally if you have all of your movies with slips together, it doesnt look tacky. IMO

Slipcovers are of little importance to me, so I definitely will not dictate which movies I buy because of them.

Packaging is completely beside the point of why I buy movies.

I disagree. Packaging is the most important point. If I'm not going to get a nicely pressed disc with an artwork adorned Blu-ray case I might as well just pirate the film.

If the slipcover turned out to be exactly the same artwork as on the paper cover on the plastic packaging, then yes. No point in have a cardboard version of a default cover, when the default cover itself would look the same.

I don't know why anyone would pass up a title just because it doesn't have a slip cover. That's like not buying a loaf of bread because it doesn't taste like steak.

To not buy a movie because it doesn't have a slipcover is absolutely insane. Movies come without slipcovers all the time. They are in 99% of cases just on the first few production runs of a movie and then that's it. Also many movies don't even come with slipcovers on any production run.

Be a movie fan first and a collector second. It would be taking it way too far to not buy a movie because it didn't have a slipcover.

I am a fan of slips. I especially like slips that are different than the box art. But I would never buy a bad BD due to the fact that the BD has a cool slip. No matter how nice a slip looks, it can't make up for a terrible film. However if I do like the BD and I want it, I would prefer to own the slip as well.
