Default Stacking Components

I have an ps3 and a directv receiver stacked on an onyko receiver that is about 6 inches thick. Will this hurt my components in any way? Thanks in advance

Vents on top of AVRs have to be open. Don't cover them. Your Onkyo could get damaged.

Some say you can stack gear without vents like CD and BD players, but I won't. Like to keep everything on its own shelf and try to limit vibrations on players.

Thanks for the help guys! I don't really have a proper entertainment stand for my bedroom setup so things get kinda complicated haha but I will figure something out. Not sure if you guys know but how strict is the subwoofer in corner rule? I need to move it in order fit a cabinet for my components. The location I'm thinking of moving it to is under my front right speaker, towards the corner but not directly in it.

Your Onkyo AVR will get to hot there is a reason it has vents I would find another place for your PS3 and PVR.

First, you really shouldn't stack, especially on top of the Onkyo (even worse doing two on top). One idea, if you absolutly must, is to use something on the corners of the component on top to raise it up and create space between the two so the Onkyo can breath. Again you shouldn't anyway but at least this will not be as bad. As to the sub in the corner, I don't know of it being a rule. Check out some of the threads here about speaker and sub placement. What I gather is it is not an exact location per say. Many factors come into play along with personal tastes. Place it where you like the sound best and go with it.

Here's a suggestion and something I bought off of Amazon, a Tria 3 shelf wall mount. Now you could check around on pricing or just keyword 3 shelf wall unit on google or whatever to see if anything else strikes your fancy.

It's funny you guys mention the Onkyo ... I was think the PS3 was in the danger spot. The thing gets hot enough on its own, without added heat. Your just asking for a YLOD to happen.
